Busy, Busy, Busy..

It IS a busy time of year. I have been making little felt booties, burp cloths, felt cookies, felt tooth fairy pillows and lots of caramels!! all for a craft show I am doing at Patrick's school. I did finally have time to make this card. For a friend..image is from Paperbag Studios and I stamped it using Ancient Page ink.. used an old receipt in the background, a piece of old trim and a couple of old buttons. I want to get our Christmas lights up this weekend and hopefully a tree. I am definitely feeling the spirit now! Looking forward to all the carols, goodies and house decorations. HOpe you are all feeling the spirit too!

Pay it Forward

PAY IT FORWARD : handcrafted gifts :)
I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this Pay it forward exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.
So basically, if you comment, I’ll send you something crafty that I’ll make!
Once you sign up, copy and paste the above paragraph on your blog, and three other lucky people will be recipients of your handmade work.I found this at Barb's blog and really like the idea.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! I have been so busy making things for gifts for Christmas I haven't had time to take pictures! I would love to send some of you a nice little something!

Mom!! quick come here..

"heaven is shining in my room" Patrick, age eleven said to me yesterday morning. The sunrise was amazing and made his room look golden with the glow.
I walked out onto the porch and he was right.. Golden, everywhere we looked. So gorgeous that I had to take a picture.. But it was fleeting, within five minutes it was gone..I have had that thought a lot this weekend.. how fleeting things are. We had quite a time with our little Puck. She is our mini pin who is 12 years old. She hasn't been so well lately, drinking way too much water, losing so much weight and just sleeping.. after our visit to the vet Saturday we were told she was severely diabetic and going blind. We spent the weekend in tears and trying to decide what the best thing for her would be. Our vet also gave us insulin for me to give her as he said he couldn't leave her once she had been diagnosed. We pretty much decided Saturday night that it would be kindest to have her put down. We were all heartbroken. Then, Sunday night came.. Wow! what a difference three insulin shots made. It is like she has a new lease on life!! so we are going to treat her.. it means a very strict diet, a very strict routine and VERY regular exercise.. William and I are taking it on gladly.. it made my heart happy to see her today playing with Toby..so whether she has six months or a year, we will enjoy and love her. .I haven't created too much the last few days, but this picture was so beautiful that I wanted to share it with you all.. Thanks for listening to my ramblings..

Sparkle and Shine!

I have a Mary Engelbreit craft book that shows different projects for the seasons. She had instructions on how to paint a pair of ice skates to hang outside your door.. Being the ME fan that I am I had to try them.. We are not a big ice skating state and so I asked my friend Jeannie (who lives in Minnesota; BIG skating place!) and she send me two pairs.. this little pair with the double blades and then an adult pair.. I am just thrilled with how they turned out! I just used acrylics and then put a coat of sparkle modge podge on them when dry. Laced with silver sparkly ribbon.. I should put some glitter on the blades , but it makes such a mess.!!

Harvest Moon..

This is my interpretation of a Harvest Moon.. and isn't she cute? A fabric postcard.. I stamped the image (Tin Can Mail stamp) and then colored yellow. Used some sparkly silver net on top of black fabric and the bottom fabrics are shimmery.. Stitched with silver metallic thread.. Hard to see the detail.

Tiny Tootsies..

My niece is having a baby in January.. a little girl.. so I made this little pair of felt crib shoes for her, along with a matching burp cloth and receiving blanket. Easy things to do while watching tv.. I have a hard time just sitting and watching tv, so if I have something to occupy my hands it is much easier!! These are easy to make and look so terribly sweet.. I embroidered the green leaves and sewed those little pearl beads on the top and sides. just lined them with some flannel that has tiny pink roses on it.. ahh... would love to have a baby to hold just now!! Have a wonderful day!

What would I do without her?

Of course, I mean my mom.. when I was little she always used to tell my sister and I "No matter what happens, you always have your mother" and you know, she was right.. although I wouldn't have believed it at the time!! We cry, we have fun, we argue, but most of all we can laugh.. those belly laughs that leave you feeling exhausted, but oh so good! So this one is for her... for her birthday.
I used some Melissa Frances paper that I cut up, some Bazzill scallop paper and a rusty heart I found at the craft store and punched a hole in with my cropadile. Also a Maya Road chipboard flouish that I painted with a copper leafing pen. I am loving this feather stitch and also inked it up!! I think I need to start photographing my cards outside instead of scanning, they look so much better, but it is dark so early!!

Stars and Snowbanks..

that was the look I was trying to achieve here with these fabric postcards. It is difficult to see the detail, I think. The background is pretty netting with silver stars on it.. I also used silver thread on it. It is so pretty and sparkly in real life!! Maybe I will try to take pictures outside instead of scanning them.. I think if you click on them you can see the detail so much better.. the fabric behind the star netting is acutally a pretty blue!

Nothing fancy here..

My sweet, sweet dad's birthday is Monday.. I made him a couple of cards and this is just a funny and very simple one! The old man stamp is from River City Rubber Works the saying I found there also, but just typed myself.. I have to say this is a wonderful company.. Their service is super fast. I ordered some stamps on Wednesday and I had them on Thursday!! There are some hilarious stamps there and also some lovely vintage ones and I am not even a stamper.. I bought the postcard stamp to stamp the back of my fabric postcards.. Enjoy
